I recently had the pleasure of visiting Montevideo Uruguay for work. To be honest before working at my current employer I had never really heard of the country other than knowing it was in Latin America. After my most recent trip in February to Montevideo I must say if you have never been you should make a point to visit - Read more

Montevideo Uruguay

IMG_3018I recently had the pleasure of visiting Montevideo Uruguay for work. To be honest before working at my current employer I had never really heard of the country other than knowing it was in Latin America.

After my most recent trip in February to Montevideo I must say if you have never been you should make a point to visit – it’s AMAZING!

To start with after leaving the cold winter months of the US the summer weather in Uruguay was amazing, just right at 70-85 every day. I was lucky enough to stay at the Sheraton  downtown and I must say the hotel was very nice. Outside of the hotel was a restaurant called Negroni and it was some of the best food I have had in my life! If you go DO try the mushroom and ham pizza and the jack daniels provolone!

Okay so you ask what else is there in Uruguay other than amazing food and weather… Well in short, LOTS! The beaches were great, for the history buffs and architecture lovers the “old town” is amazing and definitely worth a trip. But all of that does not top the best part of my trip, the PEOPLE! The natives are some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I speak very little Spanish and not once was it an issue. Everyone tried to speak to me and where we could not jive a “passer by” would stop to help me translate. Out side of translating everyone was just flat out friendly and wanted to ensure I had a great time – in and out of the tourist areas. I have been very few if any places in the world the people were so great and love of ones country was so strong!

Enjoy a few photos below and do make a point to visit the wonderful country of Uruguay!
